Moriches Bay sits just south of our area and is protected from the Atlantic Ocean by a sliver of land no more than a quarter of a mile wide. An opening to the ocean, Moriches Inlet, allows for incoming and outgoing tidal flows of water, which constantly flush contaminates out and gamefish in. The bay and inlet produce some fine catches of Stiped Bass, Fluke, Flounder and Bluefish all year long. South of the inlet, in the ocean waters of the Atlantic, you'll find plenty of big gamefish all summer long. If you plan to fish our area I suggest you stop at one of the tackle shops or marinas listed below. Use our quick links to visit our favorite places. There you can gather info about boat launching / dockage, water levels, types of tackle to use and local hot spots. What works in your area may not in ours...so see the experts!
